12oz Bottle

Rocky's Revenge poured a hazy dark amber with a nice craggy slightly off white head. Carbonation bubbles coming from below. The head sticks around on this one. Stcky white lacing half way through my glass.

The smell is good. Sweet malts come through up front followed by vanilla. There is a nice smoky/roasted scent to finish.

There is a lot of flavors going on. Sweet creamy malt quickly followed by vanilla and oak. The bourbon flavor is right on. After the bourbon this beer finishes with a nice chocolate. A little burnt bitterness comes along after the swallow.

Mouthfeel is good. Creamy and smooth. Medium bodied. Goes down good.

The drinkability suffers a little for the simple fact that this beer is more of a sipper.

Overall Rocky's Revenge is a very good beer. It says on the bottle that a portion is aged in bourbon barrels. The bourbon flavor is right where it should be. Not too strong. If you see this pick it up. It's a good beer to give a try. Hopefully it's still around next time I go up there cause I'll definately be buying more.

Hazy murked cherrywood rusted brown with a thin platnium blonde cap that lifts off quickly. Moderate lacing in thick strings.

Fair amount of vanilla in the aroma at first then picks up with some topping of roasted malts, coatings of cocoa, and notes of boubony sweetenss.

Nice subtle taster opening with chocolate bread, soft and smooth all over, caramel gets squeezed through, light velvety roast and hazelnut adorns parts of middle and close to the finish where vanilla and boubon sweetness intertwine and fades off with amazing gradual caramel leftovers. Very slight warmth blends at the finish while the sweetness takes hold late. Quite nice. Nothing abtrusive here, very mellowing, subtle, yet actively flavorful.

Medium body, creamy, smooth, partially thin in the front but picks up enough gumption during the middle and finishes well with lots of subtle sweetness and lightly blended bourbon heat.

The overall smoothness makes for some very easy drinkin'. Its a darn nice brown ale with some bite. This beer helps make Tyranena a big time contender for top Wisconsin brewery in my book of 'sconny' breweries.

Just found these notes while cleaning up the loft. No idea when they are from.

A - Pours a nut brown colored body that is clean and clear. Small beige head that leaves shortly after the pour.

S - Barrel aging is very obvious here, with bourbon, vanilla and lightly charred oak. Hazelnuts. Light toffee.

T - Very nutty with hazelnuts and toffee mixing together. Barrel aging is just a compliment here, rather than the focal point, adding to the flavor rather than taking over. Vanilla and bourbon are apparent with a touch of char in the background.

M - Medium bodied with light carbonation.

D - Very nice easy drinking brown with a bit of a twist.
