Inky black massed with a very slim cap of cocoa colored creamy foam. A few polka dots of lace are placed about.
Aroma is quite nice with a big chocolate dusting over a rich dark dry roasted maltyness slimmed with a touch of black coffee, a hint to pepper and bourbon.
Taste is quite smooth and slick with a nice mingle of dark sweet chocolate tones and blackened roasty dry maltyness. Mid ranged tang of sweetness holds for a moment then passes into a mild chocolateyness as it lightly carries into some unique dryness of bourbon soaked woody notes and bits of vanilla. A nice complexing layered treat of stoutyness.
Bold, mildly tangy, smooth, rich, invitingly coating with chocolate tones and finishes with a complexly built light dryness and lasting impression thats easy to take in on the palate. A bit warming after a bit as well, a nice touch and another remarkably yummy and drinkable stout by the brewers gone wild at Tyranena!
Pours into my glass a deep dark black with a solid half inch of creamy tan head on top. Sticky lacing around the top of the glass. Aromas are a bold mix of rich cocoa, vanilla and deep roasted malts. The chocolate is just great here. Woody oak with just the perfect touch of bourbon. Really lovely aroma.
First sip brings smooth dark roasted malts upfront swimming in rich cocoa flavors. Vanilla makes itself known along with a touch of coffee. The oak notes hit on the way down along with a well integrated bourbon flavor. Well balanced and very tasty.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, smooth and creamy. Goes down easy and extremely tasty. This is one of my favorite Brewers Gone Wild beers and I'm hoping to see it brewed again someday! Cheers to Tyranena!
