Thanks to a GB up north for this brew> moslon
A- GB darker looking brews. Dark caramel colorcrystal clear, with an off white thick foamy head that clings to the glass. +1 extra for looks on this brew as it's perfect.
S- Spell hits you as you pour it. very sharp pine hoppiness fill the area around the brew.
T- There it is, the hops that were in the smell are very present in the taste. First sip is super hoopy up front. Smooths out as it warms. Hops linger in the aftertaste. Very piny.
M- Fair, but not lacking.
O- a really good brew. The only slight thing that is missing is a little malt back bone to work with the great hop flavor.
Thanks for the chance to try this Polsonov.
Poured from bottle #2932
A - pours an amber colour with an 1 1/2 inch head. big bubbles leaving lacing around the glass as it settles.
S - lots of hops in the nose, but not overpowering. good smell to this one, but could use a bit more.
T - lots of bite to this one. Doesn't have the same taste as the american DIPA's. More of the english IPA style, but with the hops kicked up a notch. Leaves a bitter aftertase. There is supposed to be 5 different types of hops in this one, but I'm not an experenced enough beer drinker to know how to pick out each one. Maybe someone that I send a bottle to can do that (gator> hey)
M - Great mouthfeel on this one. Not chewy like some of the other beers in this style (dreadnaught, Maharaja). Tastes crisp and clean, possibly because it was brewed only a week ago.
O - Really big fan of this beer. It is a bit of a creeper, as the further through this bomber I get, the more of a punch it packs. Hope Tree brews this bad boy again. Going to have to do a tasting over the holidays with the Phillips DIPA, and whatever DIPAs I can get my hands on. All in all a very solid brew, and I hope the people at Tree brew this again soon.
