22 oz bottle that I can not recall where I got it. I think it was either spointon or bitterpachyderm. However I came across it, I am happy that it is here (and has been in my cellar) and now in my snifter.

A: Pours an amber in color that has a nice amount of copper hues to it. Held to the light, more of that copper and some reds come out. The body is pretty clear, for some reason I was expecting a little more haze or darkness to the body. A light carbonation is moving around in the body. The pour yielded about half a finger of off white, cream colored head. It doesn't stick around too long and falls to a thin top cap that leaves minute amounts of spotty lacing. Meh.

S: This one is smelling like a well hopped American Barleywine. Getting a good amount of pine and citrus hops coming out first (grapefruit). The hops are incredibly still present, which is a nice surprise here. Behind that there is the malts bring out some sweetness and the oats are mingling here as well. Getting a good amount of grains and booze mostly. Smells kinda like bourbon oddly. All very nice even if unexpected.

T: Yet again we start with the hops. Pine is coming across a little more than the grapefruit, citrus hops presence, but all are pretty present considering the age on this bottle. Malts are lightly sweet. Getting a little bit of brown sugar, caramel and just a faint touch of chocolate. The booze still comes across as a little bit of bourbon with an almost honey like presence. Oats actually take a little bit of a back seat here but are still present. The flavor wraps up with a little bit of a oatmeal cookie presence. Quite tasty.

M: Medium in body with a light carbonation. It still comes across as being a little oily and creamy. Its not chewy like the name would suggest but this still works very well. Comes across as an easy drinking BW. Has a mild hop presence on the palate, nothing excessive. Aftertaste is the Oat in Oatgoop and some booze.

D: This is actually really easy to put down. I was kind of expecting a thick stout like oat beer, but this is a pleasant surprise. It has some hops presence, but isn't too bitter. It has some malt presence, but isn't too sweet. It has some booze to it, but isn't too hot. I think time has done this beer some good and its just an easy drinking brew at the moment. I really enjoy it and I am happy whoever it was sent it to me. Thanks!
