A - Pours a dark brown body that shows huge red highlights when held up to a light source. Head starts small and burnt marshmellow color, but quickly is only a right around the glass.
S - Big dark fruits, with raisins and figs. Root beer. Some black cherry poking through. Anise.
T - Big dark fruit is accompanied by some alcohol notes. Black cherry, plums, raisins and figs. Some milky chocolate mixes in with molasses to bring a warmth to the brew. Burnt toffee is here, and there is a spiciness hitting as well. Black pepper I think. Roasted coffee with a light whipped topping flavor. It can sit on your tongue and change and change and change.
M - Full bodied. Big and bold. A bit chewy. Carbonation is on the low side, but it seems about right here.
D - Every time I take a sip, I can't help think what could be. This beer seems to have the qualities of one that could age phenomonally. My next one likely won't get cracked for a couple years.
