On nitro-tap at 242: Nice deep and dark varnished brown, nearly black - actually black in most light. Terrific cascading ochre yellow from the pour decorating the sides of the glass like rain on a window. Head is light brownish cream colored and about a finger high, super firm and whipped buttery smooth, nearly a whole nother liquid in itself, looks like melted ice cream. Mega amounts of thick lacing layered in sheets all over the glass. Gorgeous!

Aroma is soft and supple, mildly oaty sweet with a soft chocolate dusting over it and a smallish tint of roast. Was very chocolately upon the first wiffs but that fades off letting that sweet oaty backing take charge with an almost fruit salad-like gentle tartness.

Flavors bring more of the same from what the nose offers, perhaps more of the oaty sweet fruit salad stuff then the chocolate. Very soft and pleasant. The oaty tang reminds of a red grape and a cherry-like tartness, but in a much more milder sense. Way in the back in a spot around the finish there's a slight burnt roast and coffee-like sense; very slight but nice, and noticeable enough for making enough interest from what almost was too much of the soft oat thing, which it does tend to have in a majority of its flavor character.

Feel is soft and smooth, about a medium body or so, feathery carbonation, melted cold cocoa with a mild tangy fruit- whipped cream sweetness resounds through it all and finishes with an ever so slight burnt roast over the top.

At first I was like, ehh, its OK, but as it went along, I liked it more and more. It grows on ya as you start to find the little things inside that make it interestingly good. The overall smooth and soft character of this stout makes it quaffable for sure. Surprisingly, I'm happy with this one by Summit.

A - Nice deep dark brown colored body with big oatmeal colored head. Head has nice retention and really good lacing.

S - Dark roasted malts and rich chocolate. Overall the smell is laid back and subtle, but good.

T - Much light the smell. Roasted dark malts with only a touch of the roasty toasty flavor. Chocolate through the whole taste. Slight bitter coffee aftertaste.

M - Medium full bodied with nice smooth carbonation. Cask conditioning made this even better.

D - I have always thought that this was Summit's best offering. I wish that they would stop making it a keg only offering and bottle some.
