This Pale pours out to a coppery fused amber color with an overall clearish tone to it and glowing strong with a small yet thick and lustery dark beige head that sits just a bit on top before going to the way side. Lacing in minimal thin strings and globs.

Aroma is mostly toasty malts, whole grains, wild rice, very clean, with a bit of floral grassyness.

Taste is quite nice, beautifully rendered toasty malted front with favorable whole grain and biscuity tones with a great dryness that lasts and lasts. Hops keep a charge of wood bits and floral grasses which really help peak that dryness and the bitterness is fully in check with just a nudge of dried grapefruit and hop resin giving the perfect amount of balance.

Feel is milding smooth and toasty dry with a medium body overall with just enough bite in the hop profile and enough malted structure for a well balanced symphony of splendor in the taste buds. Very good stuff! Great drying qualities throughout and nice melded flavors. Quaffable indeed, surely a sessionable ale here. Yum!

I received this as an extra in a recent trade with jraycee, thanks Justin! Stone's Pale Ale pours amber with a touch of chill haze. A one finger bone white head sits atop and fades quickly to a thin coat and collar while leaving behind patchy lacing here and there. A few random explosions of carbonation rise to the surface.

Mild caramel jumps out at me right off the bat with a light toastiness in the background. The hop profile brings along both citric and floral qualities, actually leaning toward the floral character. Sugared grapefruit brings along a candy like presence.

Flavor follows the aroma closely. The toasted grains make their presence known before the floral and citric hoppiness come forth. The caramel makes a strong showing and works to balance out this APA nicely. Although I prefer my APAs with more hop, this is still very good. Grapefruit pith shows up on the backend and lasts through the finish.

The body of this APA is medium with a healthy carbonation that keeps it feeling even lighter. The carbonation is lively enough to leave some snap down the middle of the tongue. The swallow brings along mild bitterness.

This is a highly drinkable pale ale. The near balance helps this one go down about as easy as you could ask for.

Stone makes some good beer and their Pale Ale is no exception. There's an enjoyable toastiness with a bright enough hop presence to keep this beer flowing. Thanks for the sample Justin!

A - Pours a nice clean copper/amber colored body. Lots of tight bubbles rising to the surface. Thick looking light tan head is about one finger thick. Good retention.

S - Fruity and grassy hops. Some light herbal qualities. Bready, biscuity malt backbone.

T - Lightly fruity hops that seem to have a green taste if there is such a thing. Big bready malt presense overtakes the tongue for a bit. Hops turn a little citrusy before leaving with a bitter wash.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Right on the spot for the style.

D - Very drinkable pale ale. Well worth drinking. Not at the top of the Stone heap, but suited nicely for a good session style beer.
