From notes. Deep black pour with three fingers of creamy tan head that lingers on. Looks great in the glass. Aromas of dark roasted/charred malts with a big herbally licorice twang. Spicy and a bit vegetal. Figs are there with a touch of molasses. A bit odd..not really a fan.
First sip is sweet dark malts with a charred backbone. Vegetal and a touch spicy with a definite licorice flavor. Figgy with molasses and a sweet finish...not my cup of tea (err...beer)
A bit heavy on the palate with a slightly syrupy quality. Wouldn't want more than one bottle so I'm glad I only bought one :) This one was a bit of a disappointment.
