Go To IPA by Stone Brewing Company
American IPA
4.50 % ABV

Since Day One, we've been abundantly forthright and fully transparent about our lust for hops. It's led us to craft many an IPA, most of them imperial—some intense for their time and all timeless in their intensity. For Stone Go To IPA, we are embracing our hop obsession in a new way, funneling an abundance of lupulin-borne bitterness into a "session" IPA delivering all the fruity, piney character of a much bigger IPA. To accomplish this, we employed "hop bursting," a new technique wherein an irrational amount of hops is added during the final phase of the brewing process to coax out extreme flavors and aromas while also imparting a burst of desirably pleasant bitterness.
The result is an Alpha-acid-rich beer that fans can enjoy more of without missing out on the assertive hop character you, like us, crave. So, sit back and go two with your new everyday go-to IPA and bask along with us in the glory of the almighty hop.

(Served in a globe glass)

A- This beer pour an orangish-yellow body with a touch of haze and a quick carbonation of big bubbles that support a sticky snow white head.

S- The full mellow unripe fruit hops has some citrus pith aromas and is finished with a lighter pale malt sweetness that grows just a touch in the finish.

T- The juicy green hops has more unripe fruit with some woody pine notes and pith bitterness in the finish. The pungent hop bitterness flavor lingers and hangs in the back of the throat after each sip.

M- The slightly slippery mouthfeel has a gentle fizz and no alcohol heat.

O- This beer has some nice full hops flavor but they are pretty mellow and not that bright in flavor for the hops listed on the bottle. This was a nice beer but the pungent bitterness that hangs on in the aftertaste made this not very sessionable for me.

Poured from the tap into a Rogue pint glass.

The color is clear orange/gold with a foamy white head and some nice lacing.

The smell is bright hops with some fresh hop aroma. Fresh cut grass is in the nose with a tangerine aroma sweetening things up and making it citrus smelling.

The taste is nice piney hops with sweet light malty goodness. A nice citrus flavor with hints of tangerine and tangy grapefruit. Much like Enjoy By IPA, the flavor has that same earthy grass taste.

The feel is light bodied and goes pretty damn easy. A tasty beer in a light session-able package. Some flavor reminiscent of bigger IPAs but has lightness that is vey drinkable.
