Holland Oats by Stillwater Artisanal Ales
American Amber / Red Ale
6.60 % ABV

The style is Dutch Amber Ale, with toasted oats and appelstroop. A couple things about this beer. First, for those who don't know, "appelstroop" is literally translated from Dutch to English as "apple syrup". Second, the beer name and label design is an obvious take-off from the 1980's pop music duo "Hall & Oates". If the beer is half as good as the gimmick beer name and ingredients, then this one should be very good.

From the Stillwater Facebook post:

"Oh-oh, here she comes.. (brewed with toasted oats & appelstroop)"

(Served in a tulip glass)
A- hazy deep caramel body glows below a bubble sticky thin cream head and is supported by strands of microbubbles that trail up the sides.

S- The butterscotch note leads to a sweet malt note that finishes with a caramel hint and a faint earthy oat quality.

T- The caramel sweetness blends with a herbal bitterness which lingers a bit after a dry finish. There is a slight spicy phenol that comes through as it warm along with some butter hints that are not quite diacetyl and some raw oat flavors aswell.

M- The medium mouthfeel is slightly chewy as it opens up and no alcohol heat is noticed.

O- The nice depth of sweetness is balanced by some mellow bitterness and a crisp finish is balanced by a oat fullness in the mouth.
