Debbie Downer Dunkelweizen by Spiteful Brewing
Dunkel Weizen
7.00 % ABV

Debbie Downer is a traditional German Dunkelweizen made with a base of wheat and Munich malt. A touch of black malt is added to give this beer it's dark hue. The malts are complimented with a single addition of imported Hallertauer Hershbrucker hops. Add in someGerman yeast and you get a crisp, effervescent beer sure to quench your thirst and lift your spirits, after you encounter the misery of your Debbie Downer.

A- This beer pours a deep dense walnut brown that glows just a bit at the base. There is an oily sheet and no head on the surface with lots of bubble popping on top.

S- The fruity gum aroma has a heavy yeast trub aroma with some Noble hop hints and a growing fusel alcohol finish. Hints of dark bread crust start to come through and some strong mineral notes aswell.

T- The lightly toasted malt notes blend with a big yeast flavor and a clove hint in the finish. There is a tart note in the finish with some Munich malt flavors lingering for a moment.

M- The light mouthfeel has a full fizz and some alcohol warmth in the finish.

O- This is an odd and quirky Dunkelweiss. The yeast esters are odd, the alcohol is really hot and the thin body with a big fizz makes Debbie a bit too unappealing to dance with. I couldn’t finish the song.
