Old Review
12 oz bottle out of a mixed 12 pack I picked up at Cheer's Wine and Spirits in Carrollton, GA. Served up in my Terrapin pint glass.

A: Pours a really nice medium to dark brown color. Held to the light it still stands as a nice light brown color with some nice dark red highlights. The head came up as about a half a finger of white head. The head unfortunately doesn't have much retention and falls to a thin white ring. The lacing is actually pretty decent considering the amount of head retention. Thick lines streak the glass. Pretty nice.

S: Smell is mostly some nice sweet, brown sugary malt along with some decent bready malts. The hops are not really there at all. Just a minimal amount of earthy/grassy hops. The malt is the main focus and but it kinda has an off putting smell that seems a bit sour at times.

T: The taste is a bit better than the aroma. The brown sugary malt comes up with some decent sweetness. There is also some really nice bready malt presence that really cuts the sweetness a bit. There is a touch of toffee in here as well. Yet again the hops are mild with just a touch of grassy presence, but it comes out a bit more here than in the aroma. There is also a really nice green apple skins coming out here as well. Simple but tasty.

M: This beer actually has a nice medium body to it that has a nice silky smooth creaminess. Carbonation is a bit on the low side, but it works for this beer. It is still pretty easy to put down with a nice refreshing quality. ABV is light and not really a factor here. Aftertaste is mostly just some sweet malty goodness.

D: Very solid brown ale that has a good amount of drinkability to it. This beer goes down easy, is smooth as hell, and tastes really good. Its overall solid in all categories and goes over very well. It might be a bit on the simple side, but I like that from a brown ale. Overall, I think this works well and is quite enjoyable.

Gorgeous ruby tinted chestnut brown with a small creamy colored head of firm froth. Good lacing in a few thick strings and blobs stick across the glass and keeps a consistant collar ring and whispy skim.

Aroma is mild but clean and present of a sweet nutty maltyness with a ghostly chocolatey note and buttery coffee cake.

Taste is a subtle treat and what a very good Brown ale should taste like, which this is! Damn solid and quite yummy with an ease of simplicity that captures lots of subtle complexities of sweet nutty malts, soft bready cereal grainyness, dryish husks, and a light chocolate fluffy touch mixed in late with a tiny smurfing of hoppy leafyness. As already stated - a subtle treat!

Body is smooth and medium-esk with a light fluffy touch of dryness and softly tendered sweet maltyness and carbonation.

A delightful Brown and one of the best I've had in a long, long time. Completely sessionable by many and really helps you refine your respect and admiration for brews that have subtlty like this.

Pours a slightly hazy medium/light brown with a good couple fingers of foamy off-white head atop. The foam settles and leaves the walls of the glass nicely laced and a small layer of foam covering the top of the brew.

Smells of medium sweet malt. Nice roasted aroma with a good bit of hazelnut, toffee and dark caramel. Hint of bitter sweet chocolate.

Medium bodied malt flavor. Slightly roasty with a nice sweetness. Plenty of hazelnut. Toffee mixes in nicely and the sweetness comes back again in the aftertaste. Just a hint of caramel and more hazelnut.

Full flavored but light enough that it goes down easily.

Thanks to JerseyToughGuys for this brew>

Pours a crystal clear brown with a light tan head on it. Head fades into the brew leaving a light ring around the brew. Light roasted malts are first out of the gate, followed by nice light hop aroma. Flavor is solid. Nice crisp hops flow freely along with the malts. Light caramel bring some sweetness to this brew and work really well with the hops. Solid drinker here....
