My main man from Connecticut sent a half growler of this delicious gem my way. Thanks much Adam!! Drank from my Ithaca nonic pint glass while watching the Broncos vs. Patriots.

Appearance- Pours a nice dark ruby brown with a big beautiful one finger dirty tan head. It’s so foamy and dense it literally looks like this was poured off Nitro. The cap and collar stay the entire beer along with a fair amount of spotty lacing.
Smell- Not the most potent nose in the world but it’s nice. Light hints of cocoa and Tootsie Roll right from the start. Maybe a wispy sort of coffee undertone but it’s very light. Oddly not even a hint of anything tart or fruity from the cranberries. Just a fairly simple, somewhat earthy Porter nose.
Taste- Starts out with a sort of super light sweetness that is chalky and earthy. Plenty of dark chocolate and nice earthy cocoa nibs. A nice light slightly acrid roast hides in here as well with very light notes of espresso. Although there is just a touch of sweetness hiding in the beer it does finish fairly dry. If I try really hard I think I can find a super light touch of Cranberries hiding in the background but I’m afraid it’s probably just my imagination.
Mouthfeel- Silky smooth with a beautifully creamy mouthfeel. The carbonation is light and airy. Perfect.
Drinkability- Although I’m slightly disappointed the Cranberries basically are non existant, I get over it quickly. This beer is REALLY good. One of the tastiest Porters I’ve had since Founders Porter or FFF Alpha Klaus - dare I say I actually like this better than both? I definitely do. Awesome beer even without any Cranberries. Thanks Adam!
