Old Review
12 oz bottle that appeared in a suprise box I got last night. This one reads "Coldfoot Pilsner" on the bottle. Served up in a pint glass.
A: This is pretty par for the course. Got a crystal clear, golden yellow in color. Held to the light, this beer doesn't have much color to change really. Carbonation is a little slower than anticipated. A normal pour got me about a finger and a half of bright white head. Sadly, it falter pretty quickly and disappears to nothing. Looked great when I poured it, but I just wish it would have held on to that look for just a little while longer.
S: Smell is lightly sweet with a slightly fruity aroma (citrus maybe?). Behind that its some decent malt character and a light hopping. Other than that it just has a slight buttery quality to it.
T: Pretty much exactly like the nose. A little sweeter than I expected but this is a good thing. Nice malt presence with that light hopping. Beginning to think that citrus flavor is coming from the hops. Not getting any of that buttery quality in the flavor, which is fantastic. Just clean with a good amount of flavor.
M: Light in body as expected and wanted. Good amount of carbonation here keeping this beer nice and crisp. Alcohol is light and doesn't even make itself known. Kinda shocked its over 5%. Aftertaste is just a barely lingering sweetness.
D: I wouldn't mind having this on hand in the fridge at all. Easily a good, easy drinking beer perfect for watching the game or cooling off after working in the yard. Highly drinkable and disappears quickly, just what I want from my pilsners. Nice beer.
