Gorgeous dark brown pour, settling opaque and laquer-esque. A tall crown of tan foam builds gracefully and with a firm steady tow of creamyness to its shape. It levels off slowly and lets a pattern of lace draw itslef upon the glass in a drippy sheeting.

Mild, soft, yet complexing nose with purple grapes, blueberry, nuts, maple, fig, and raisin, with a dash of cinnamon. All masked by a big breath of earthy dark alcoholic woodyness.

Taste is very subtle, both in its layers and textures. Quite interesting for a Strong ale; definately not the norm for the style. But SN shows here, how the boundries for style can be blurred by quite a bit. Quite Belgian-esque overall as its calm and smooth with lofty dark fruity nuances playing with earthy deep and dark maple tones. It warms gently across the palate, politely grinning its 10% ABV teeth while it drys ever so lightly with a woody ascent and light bakery spice.

Bold, smooth, lush, stronger medium body with a nice play of soft malty tang and dry earthyness.

Another SN classic twist on something that goes well along with the 30th Anniversary stuff!
