Picture perfect clear sunshine golden rod color with a slimish puff of white foam not lasting long and no real lace but a few specks here and there.

Aroma is of a dulled sweet honey and golden raisin with a twist of dry grain husks and floral tinted earthyness.

Taste has good biscuityness while slipping under a bold, yet mellowing malty sweetness thats much like what I would say honey drizzled pretzeled bread. Nice touch to some dry grassy hops and floral earth that resembles some light metalic/sulpher-esk chalkyness. Maintains a favorable balance between all its lenghty flavor and tone.

Feel is of medium maltyness and medium carbonation with a slender bite of dryness thats biscuity, floral, earthy, and very slightly metalic.

A solid drinker that has alot of fun little things going for it. Maibock meets Euro lager meets Belgian lager(Stella).

Picked this up at Smokin Joe's in Jacksonville, AL for $9.99 a sixer. Poured this up in my Dogfish Head shaped pint.

A: Pours a very nice golden yellow in color. Held to the light, it glows golden yellow. Got about a 1/3 of a finger of creamy white head. Sadly it doesn't stick around too long. Falls to a thin ring with a floater in the center. A little bit of lace stays up on the glass but nothing crazy. The body is crystal clear, showcasing a very steady carbonation activity kickin in here. Not bad.

S: Smell is all grain and hops. Just smells like earth and the grains that grow in it. Hops are nice and light, good and European. Malts are pale and lightly sweet. Very clean.

T: I don't know exactly why, but I dig the flavor kickin in here. Yet again, lots of grain in here that has an almost hearty quality to it. The hops are very evident of German influence, nice and clean. Good and grassy with a touch of floral. There is this really nice sharpness that the hops add to the beer to cut some of the grain and malt sweetness. Aftertaste is a little bit of grapefruit and honey. I really like it.

M: Nice and light but it has some weight to it on the palate. Has a bit of stickiness to it as it lightly coats the mouth. The beer ranges from sweet to sharp lingering. ABV is not ever worth mentioning, not an issue at all. Finishes pretty clean and crisp. Aftertaste is the above mentioned grapefruit.

D: This is an easy drinking golden bock. It has a good flavor, nice aroma and an easy drinking simplicity. From what I have read on the bottle, this is what SN was going for. Mission accomplished people. It works for me, but as I found out last night, I can't drink more than five of these in a sitting. They just sit a little heavy and the simplicity does get a little monotonous at times. Still a tasty beer and a nice change from crazily uber hopped beers from SN. I liked it. What?

Well, guess I'm going to be the first motherfucker to tell the world what I think of this beer. Bought this 12oz bottle at City Beer in SF for approximately a two-spot. One of the guys from Sierra Nevada piped up on the forums on the "other site" (or is it the "other other site") preemptively calling people out for reviewing it poorly, saying something that more or less boiled down to, "Hey guys, I know you're going to think this beer sucks and give it a crappy review, but it's actually really good!" Well, I appreciate what they were going for here, but overall I only found this to be an average beer.

Golden color (surprisingly) with a nice creamy white head sitting on top. Aroma is grainy as all hell. Grain, grain, grain, pale malt, honey, and grain. Is this some kind of adjunct helles bock? Fuck if I know. Still, not a bad aroma by any means. Flavor is corn, rice, sweet pale malt, and a little touch of floral and grassy hops. Average palate for the style. This isn't a total disaster, but it's not impressive in the least. One of my least favorite Sierra Nevada offerings, although I can see why they wanted to include it in their lineup and think it has a place there.

Price: $2.00 Served In: Bottle
