Pours into my glass a deep, somewhat dark amber with a quarter inch of khaki foam that leaves some lacing. Aromas kick off with a traditional caramelized, somewhat toasty grain backbone. Spices, molasses and some raisins in there along with a nice dose of apple as well. Yeasty phenolics in the back.
First sip brings a nice caramel malt base with apple cider and plenty of yeasty spiciness. Some clove, molasses and raisin mix in. Flows down with a touch of sweetness Finish is smooth with a lingering apple spice aftertaste. Quite enjoyable.
Mouthfeel is smooth and light with good carbonation throughout. An easy drinking brew overall. I like the addition of the Belgian yeast and the apple cider works in well with the amber ale. Solid brew!
