Batch 002 from Fro

Pours a murky redish amber color. Nice light head lingers on the brew. Decent lacing. Real spicy nose, with some fruits. Really nice to sit and smell this brew. Really nice flavor here, nice malts are up fornt with light citrus tart in the finish. Really dig the slight tang in the finish. Another solid brew form fro.

Bottle courtesy of the honorable Fro. Batch 002

A - Pours a clean, light amber colored body with some small bubbles floating around in it. Nice, thick one finger head sits on top. It's a nice tan color and is thick as mashed potatoes. Super retention.

S - Lightly, seemingly delicately toasted malts. Definite warm spiciness going on here. Some yogurty tartness that I love so much in my RR brews.

T - Starts off with lightly toasted caramel malts that seem to have sort of a holiday warmth to them. You get some of your typical brown ale nuttiness, which was slightly unexpected. Spices come in with nutmeg and something I can't seem to pinpoint. Throughout all of this there is a nice yeasty funkiness riding along. Doesn't have a big tart or yogurty bite as many of the Russian River brews do, but it's one of the few that isn't a wild "tion" beer I guess. Sort of a toastier, nuttier oud bruin crossover.

M - Medium bodied but somehow sort of crisp. Carbonation is fine, tickling the tongue the whole way down.

Overall - I am enjoying this beer very much. Doesn't rank with Beatification or Supplication, but what does?
