22oz Bomber
$4.99
Binny's Orland
Poured jet black into an imperial pint glass. If I look hard enough and hold it to the light I can faintly see a mahogany shimmer. The head is amazing after the pour. Two fingers of billowy milk chocolatey goodness that makes itself very comfortable but eventually fades to a cap. Thin micro bubbled lacing after each sip.
Smells mainly of roasted malts. There's some cocoa powder in there as well along with the smallest amount of burnt malts. I can pick up a little cascade hoppiness at first but it fades to the malts rather quickly. As this beer warms I even pick up sweet tobacco. Smells like a perfect beer to drink on this cold evening.
Tastes begins with mellow bitter coffee beans and intensifies by mid-palate. On the swallow the coffee beans turn themselves in to a creamy cappucino with a touch of milk chocolate in the aftertaste that makes a nice accompaniment. The more I drink the more the bitterness lingers in the finish. Very nicely done.
Mouthfeel is good. I would like it better if it was a little more creamy in the mouth but it's still good. theres some carbonation that makes this beer feel lively and keeps it moving like it should. Finishes moderately dry and clean.
For a stout the drinkability is pretty high. Being cold like it is right now I could easily drink a couple of these bombers. If it was a warm day I don't think it would be as easy to put down.
This is a really clean well made stout. I am constantly finding myself impressed with each new Rogue I pick up.

Got this at a Whole Foods in Buckhead in Atlanta.
22oz bomber poured into pint tumblers.
A: Dark brown, a little lighter than I was expecting. Poured a full tan head that created some nice lacing throughout the experience.
S: Rich in coffee and roasted malts.
T: The roasted malt comes across beautifully here. A little bit of oats, chocolate and coffee round off the taste.
M: Carbonation is fine. Good rich flavor coats mouth. Very creamy.
D: Very tasty and would drink again. Happy with this as I am happy with most Rogue brews. A bomber is more than enough for a sitting.

A: Pitch Black, Great head w/ many large bubbles. Head didn't last long
S: Nutty, Chocolaty, Good esters
T: Bitter Chocolate, Spicy, Warming flavor
M: Heavy and lingering.
D: Great flavor but no more than one 22oz at a time, too heavy.
A great beer for my first review. Opened this up to celebrate the birth of my daughter. I quit all alcohol while the wife was preg and this was my treat afterwards. Perfect choice.

A - Pours a nice black body that doesn't look to be letting any light poke through. One finger cocoa head has good retention.
S - Roasted malts, chocolate, and citrusy hops. A bit of coffee eeks out.
T - Chocolate and roasted dark malts. In the middle I get of a coffee bitterness that turns into a citrusy bitter wash at the end. Simple, but very nice.
M - Medium full bodied. Carbonation is a bit prickly, but a couple swirls in the glass and it is fine.
D - Nice stout. Rogue sure does make a lot of solid brews.

Fresno finally got this dude. Pours a like any other good stout, dark as teh night and forms a dark tan head. Smell is jsut good, nothing really spectacular. Taste is where it’s at. Very full of chocolate and slight alcohol. Very very good brew and will get again for sure.

Poured part of this beer into a pint glass. Poured black with about a 1/2 head that dissipated rather quickly.
Good tasting beer, can really taste the chocolate malt in this one.
The beer is too light on the tounge IMO, reminds me more of a stout.
This was a decent beer, I tried it because there was a clone recipe in this months BYO that I thought I might try. Decent beer, but there are many more I would rather drink in this style.
