Bottom Up by Revolution Brewing
Witbier
4.50 % ABV

Our interpretation of this classic and refreshing Belgian style ale is brewed with organic pilsner and wheat malts from Canada. Freshly ground coriander and Curacao orange peel, along with a special Wit yeast strain, contribute wonderful orange and citrus aromas and a crisp, yet silky, mouthfeel.

A- This beer pours a slightly hazy yellow lemon body with a sticky head of snow white and a gentle carbonation.

S- The clean slightly yeasty aroma has some lemon pith hints to it with a dried orange note in the finish. There are some grassy hop hints that peek through as it opens.

T- The dry yeasty flavor has a lemon tartness that takes on some orange characters as it warms. There is a dry spicy note in the finish with a hop tartness lingering a moment.

M- The medium mouthfeel has a gentle fizz that compliments the hops in the finish.

O- The slightly sweet beer has a nice perceived dryness with the spice in the finish. This beer is refreshing and has a nice taste but it is a meal in a glass.

This one was honestly a notch below the Workingman Mild in overall "beer-ness". It was good, no question. But it was missing the notable grassy sweetness and spicy and citrus notes that you really expect. Those aspects were there, sure. However, in particular, the citrus tones could have been more notable. Still as solid beer, just not what I would call "special".
