Appearance
Pours a cloudy, light copper. The beige head is extremely dense and the retention is unrealy. Leaves very thick lacing. Signs of heavy carbonation are present.
Smell
No mistaking the rye in the aroma. Also so perfumey hops and sweet, toasted malts.
Taste
Lots of rye and a biscuity malt flavor. There is a touch of grassy hops in the middle, but this is very subtle.
Feel
I would have never guessed this from looking at it, but there is minimal carbonation, can't quite figure it out with the amount of bubbles. The texture is a bit soapy and thin.
Overall
Not what I was expecting at all, but not bad. If it wasn't called a "Rye Pale Ale" I wouldn't have been so turned off by the lack of hops, but still not a bad beer by any means.

A - Body is a cloudy, ruddy dull apricot color with tight bubbles rising to the top. The half inch head is sparkly (for lack of a better term) and thick looking. Great retention.
S - Slight toasted malt. Definite rye in there. Not much else I can pick up.
T - Rye is apparent. Surprisingly rich roasted malt for a pale ale. Very light, slightly spicy hops.
M - This is the highlight of this beer, in my opinion. Medium/full bodied with a smooth, luxurious feel to it. Carbonation is perfect. Don't know that I have had a pale ale with a better feel to it.
D - Nice beer. I wish it had a little more hops to it, but still a solid beer.
