Marsh-Mellow by Oxfordshire Ales
Extra Special / Strong Bitter (ESB)
4.70 % ABV

ABV: 4.7%

The signature beer of the Oxfordshire Ales range. For a fuller flavour, Marshmellow is a classic real ale with contemporary, easy drinking qualities. Deep amber in colour Marshmellow is generously fruity, malty and quenches the thirst with a lingering bitterness.

Hops: East Kent Goldings and Mount Hood

500 ml bottle, 4.7%abv, with a 161 stamped on the back side of the label.

It pours a hazy amber with a 1 finger head of billowy foam. Hehe...I poured it slower than I did with the Pride of Oxford and the reward is a great looking brew in my imperial pint glass.

It smells more complex with notes of biscuit, some fruitiness, and a more mild nondescript bitterness. To me, it smells very inviting.

Big but not overdone notes of biscuit in the taste, a nice fruity flavour or 2...trying to figure out which fruit by swishing the beer in my mouth but the biscuit flavour over rides it enough to make that not possible for me. Oh well, it's there and it's nice.

The bitterness, though mild, is of a lemon like taste.

Good stuff here and the mouthfeel helps with it's creaminess and lowish carbonation.

Quite a tasty ESB, I dig it.
