Deviant Dale's IPA by Oskar Blues Grill & Brewery
American Double / Imperial IPA
8.00 % ABV

This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

(Served in an imperial Nonic)

A- This beer pours a slightly haze slightly dense deep copper body with gentle strands of tiny bubbles streaming to the surface. There is a sticky beige head that last and leave register marks with each sip.

S- The dark green woody hops are pungent with a slight herbal note in the finish.

T- The pine resin flavor is full but not really bitter with a light toasted malt hint of sweetness in the finish. There is a nice bitter snap in the finish that really kicks me in the teeth as it starts to warm up.

M- The medium-full mouthfeel is creamy in texture but no real alcohol heat is noticed.

O- This beer has a nice hop flavor but the bitterness really gets bitey. I like the bit of malt support that comes through to balance the bitterness but it can't hold up.
