Thanks to Westsidethreat for the growler.
A - Pours a copper orange colored body. Some very tiny bubbles slowly meandering to the surface. Small head is gone in less than 20 seconds, leaving only some whisps on the surface and a ring around the glass.
S - The nose is bursting with hop, oily and slick. Citrus notes of grapefruit rind and intense pine sap. Slightly boozy. Big malt backbone.
T - Starts immediately with a nice hop bitterness. Works into some pine sap and grapefruit. Malts take over for just a second with some nice fruity sweetness. Spiciness comes in with some black pepper that last through to the aftertaste. Very bitter, but not tongue numbing.
M - Medium bodied with sticky hop oils. Carbonation is fine bubbles that prick the tongue a bit.
D - Very good DIPA. Focuses more on bitterness than hoppiness. My first taste of Oggi's is a good one. Bring on the Torrey Pines...
