Clear golden hay. Big fluffy capping of off-white foam lathers up quickly. Lots of caked on lacing covers the glass in broken holed sheeting.
Lovely aroma of fresh citrafied hops with a dullish tone of peach, mango, pineapple, tangerine, and orange all melding together like a fine Turkish sherbert. Slight hay and cannibus arise deeper in the background to the nose about half glass though. Exceptional nose! Mellow, yet forward. Complexing and very appetizing.
Taste doesn't disappoint. A brigade of citrusy flavors float together quickly with a tiny tint of bitterness to its overall clean and fluffy citric profile. Fuzzy peach skins loom large with some pineapple and mango tang while a larger orangified profile takes control. Only slightly warm, then mellowing off easily with a bit more peach and some duller breadish and soft biscuit maltyness playing underneath. Finsihes a bit dirty within the citrus with hay and lighter cannibus twisting in some wonderful complexity late.
Medium clean body with a great additional little pull of texture into a fluffy hoppyness and a very controlled, lower-ended citrusy tone of pithy juiced bitterness. 9.3%? Huh? Where? It's only a bit warm thats really no different then some regular IPA's. A very nice attribute to have.
Odell always keeps me interested with their brews and this one definately won me over, and quickly. One exceptional Dbl. IPA!
