This is the second batch of the "normal" Hefe for us. We used a different yeast this time, though. The result was less cloves and banana smells, and more wheat. That makes this one border on an American Wheat Ale.

Color is medium golden and cloudy. Smell is somewhat muted, as the yeast change makes the coves and banana smells less prominent. Taste is very good though, with the wheat sweetness pretty strong.

Overall, this one is good but different than the previous batch of the Hefe. Honestly, I like the old batch a little more, given the clove and banana smells. Still a very good bottle.

I have to admit to being biased in favor of this bottle. I wanted to brew this one with the group big-time. And I'll say it once again --- Danny came through with a fantastic recipe. This one has a bit more of the cloves and banana smells than most Hefe's. If you've ever had the Two Brothers Ebel's Weiss, then you get a good sense of this bottle. The color is a really nice golden and cloudy. Taste is equally good, with the bready wheat standing out well and a very slight sweetness. I really think this is the best bottle that we have done so far. Although, the upcoming IPA might give it a run.
