Lightly blackened brown hue that resembles a more solid root beer or vanilla soda. Dark amber at the bottom fading thru. Light whispy off-white foam spills off quickly showing its higher ABV. Just a couple spots and specks of lace stick on my Ommegang flute glass.

Potent Pinesol aroma laced with corriander, black licorice, blackened mushrooms, and cinnamon. Quite one sided on the nose and not coming across as much other then it smiling its 10% teeth.

Taste is akin to a weaker 'Noel' darker style Belgian with a brief stay to a smoothed out candied black licorice. Darkly sweet with touches to corriander, root beer, vanilla, and cinnamon. Kinda quick and loose, slimmingly bready, like that of a fruitcake found at the holiday table. Yet, without much going, the finish is where the warmth hits, and hits big, with a decent complexing spiceyness popping about while the strange tangy stretch of black licorice and root beer linger behind it.

Smooth, warm, but light on body, not empty really, but lacking girth, stature, and any real character. Its just there with a lightened dark sweetness and big black licorice tone while the warmth maintains a firm lingering hold.

One strange concoction from Nogne O, not a suprise really, given alot of the other brews they put out. But this one takes the holiday-fruit bread/cake. Odd, but likeable.
