12oz Bottle
Uff-Da pours a deep dark mahogany. I got a 1 finger tan head with an aggressive pour. It faded quickly to a light coating. This beer looks really good. The head did fade faster than I would've liked though.
There's a lot of scents going on with this one. Dark fruits and a sweetness. Mild chocolate and roasted malts.
Taste is good. Starts out with some cherry, coffee and roasted malts and gets sweet from there. I would like a little stronger flavor but it's still good.
As I drink it coats the mouth. I can feel it on my teeth. It's medium bodied but I think just a little light for the style.
The drinkability is good. Smooth and easy drinking especially for a bock.
Good fall weather beer for when it just starts getting cooler. I don't have access to this all the time since I dont live in Wisconsin but I go up there a few times a year and will by it again.

Pours a dark, DARK mahogany cola color. Two fingers of dense, creamy khaki colored head takes place - very impressive. Beautiful lacing.
Aroma is excellent. Very malty - coffee, dark chocolates, toffee and licorice, some brown sugar as well. Bready.
Taste follows the nose perfectly. Nicely roasted malts lend their flavors - again with the coffee, dark bitter chocolates, toffee, licorice and brown sugar. Accompanying these flavors are hints at raisins as well - and perhaps fig. Hints at wood smoke as well. A light bitterness towards the never ending finish...
A heavy medium in body, smoooth, creamy, lush, almost sticky body. Carbonation is fantastic. A bit of dryness to this, along with some boozy warmth.
This is excellent on a snowy evening such as this. A great bock, perfect for sipping. This bock is everything I was hoping for, and then some.
My only regret is that I wish I had a few more.
Highly Recommended!

This poured out wonderfully with a growing tall head of very tight frothyness of light tannish color sitting atop a glowing deep mahagony, rubyish copper highlighted gem of a bottom. Head did fade pretty fast though to a skim always present and a fairly thick ring. Smell is faint malts and light roastyness, no tang or sweetness to be found, will that carry over to the taste? Yep, kinda, its a whole lotta empty malts that renders some roastyness and seems to be quite solid and smooth but no other characteristics can be found. Hops are there in very small amount lending a bit of a grab with some roasted grains and thank goodness for that, other wise I might fall asleep drinkin this bock. Has no real finishing qualities either. Kinda bland and one dimensional. Feel is medium bodied smoothness with a small pickup near the middle. Its a decent drinkable tastin bock, a bit lack luster but do-able over many others of this style.

Pours a deep black and allows no light to penetrate. Small brown head atop settles after a minute or two and leaves the walls of the glass coated in a layer of sticky lacing.
Big malty nose with a bit of dry sweetness to it. Hints of chocolate and charred malt. Some notes of dark caramel and dark toffee too.
Deep caramel malt up front quickly followed by roasted malt and a nice smooth sweetness. Malty body slides across the tongue nicely with notes of dark toffee and a touch of charred malt. Hint of crushed coffee beans and a hint of chocolate at the end. Very full bodied and fairly easy drinkin.

Color is dark, along the lines of a porter or stout. Most bocks these days are lighter than this, but apparently the original style was actually dark like this. Nice touch on this effort. Smell is solid here, dominated by malts as expected. Semi-sweet smells with a touch of hops just for good measure. Taste is slightly bitter, more than the smell hinted. I suspect NG upped the hops a bit just to get some balance in there. And it worked. This is actually one of the better ones I've had from them. Feel is along the lines of a porter, with slightly less stick to it.
Overall, this one is good. Really good. Again, it's slightly darker and heavier than a normal bock we see these days. But from what I've read, the style originally was more along these lines. If they did add some extra hops for balance, I say it works well.
