22 oz bottle thanks to ender. The label artwork caught my eye and I had wanted to try it, so it was cool to get this in my secret santa package. Served up in a snifter.

A: Pours up a glossy, jet black body. Held to the light, nothing is getting through. The body is so black and glossy that it is incredibly reflective. The pour got me a finger of frothy, thick chocolate pudding pop colored head. The head is incredibly dense and creamy and the weight of it causes it to slide back into the top cap. Beautiful beer.

S: The smell is incredibly roasty and at first sniff that is really all that I get. Further investigation over the course of the beer, I begin to pick up on a few more muted notes. Picking up on a slight cherry presence. In all that roast is some really rich cocoa powder. Behind all of that is a faint earthy quality that I cannot place.

T: Taste starts off with that intense and delicious cocoa powder quality. The chocolate quality just tastes incredibly high end. The roasted malts really start pushing through and compliment wonderfully. That earthy note is more easily placed in the flavor. It is a nice wood/oak presence. Chocolate covered cherry flavors are minor but there. Things round out with a ambiguous hops bitterness.

M: Mouthfell is big and creamy. Carbonation is oddly crisp for how creamy it is, but it is a very nice addition. ABV is shockingly unnoticeable for 12%. This beer is mostly sweet but it does play on the bitter part of the tongue at times. Aftertaste is all hops, oak and cocoa.

OA: Incredibly solid Imperial Stout and probably the best looking representation of the style that I have ever seen. It is friggin delicious and have totally lived up the self imposed hype I have put on it. Need more for aging. Until then, I am going to savor the hell out of this beer. Thanks, Dave.
