Review from 01/21/07
A - Poured a rusty copper colored body that was nice and cloudy. The small head was tan in color, but had decent retention and left nice lacing.
S - There is one thing that you know for sure when you smell this one. It is a sipping beer that in quantity would kick your ass. Big boozy smell laced with bourbon. Also present is vanilla, with toffee and maple tagging along.
T - This is one complex, enormous beer. Sweetness is provided by caramel, toffee, figs, vanilla, and dark berries. Lots of rich, deep flavor on the tongue with hops poking through for a minute. Finish is boozy where the biggest hint of the barrel aging hits. Not over-oaked, as many beers tend to be.
M - RIch and full. Carbonation is minimal but works well with this style.
D - I wouldn't recommend drinking to much of this, but I would recommend trying it if you ever have the chance. Yet another great beer from Town Hall.
