Pours a deep leather brown with a small bit of tan foam around the edge of the glass. No real sign of lacing on the walls of the glass as you drink it down.
Warm roasted malt aroma with a nice bit of peat moss. Dry with a hint of caramel. Hint of wine astringency. Touch of oak. Notes of dried raisin and dark figs. Hint of dark licorice.
Smooth light caramel malt body with nice sweetness. Nicely dry with fruity notes of dried fruit. Apple followed by fig. Wine barrel character comes through nicely with winey notes and a bit of tartness at the end. Bit of oak barrel flavor coming through in the aftertaste.
Super easy drinking with no sign of the alcohol that'll soon hit.
