Pours a deep black with a thick ringer of deep brown head. The foam settles a bit and leaves plenty of sticky lacing on the walls of the goblet.

Sweet deep roasted malt with plenty of smooth whiskey notes. Bitter chocolate and light coffee. Hint of burnt malt and then nice sweet malty notes mingle into the barrel aromas.

Super smooth and sweet. Malt flavors overtake the tongue. Coco and milk chocolate are most up front making up the majority of the flavors. Smooth whiskey notes along with a bit of barrel tannins. Coffee and roasted malt next with just a touch of burnt malt. Ending things out on a nice sweet aftertaste and a light whiskey hint.

Stupidly smooth and drinkable. So hard to sip cause it goes down so smooth.

Ok, I should have taken notes tonight on this one, but I think I had enough to give it a fair review.

A - Comes to me black brownish with a thick, opaque body. Head is minimal, which is understandable after being barrel aged, but is thick and cocoa colored. Good lacing throughout this one.

S - Big dark malt all over this one. Coffee, chocolate and bourbon are all very present in this one. Barrel aging brings a nice highlight, rather than a focus, as many BA brew tend to be. Some vanilla and an ever so slight touch of oak.

T - God, I love this beer. Big dark malts all over with it. Chocolate, coffee and vanilla are all very apparent. Bourbon comes in towards the finish and doesn't let go, leaving a lasting impression. More coffee bitterness at the finish.

M - Full bodied, but with slight hard carbonation. Could be the one "fault" in this brew.

D - Well, I had 6 at the release party, which should say enough for it's drinkability. Great Imperial Stout that is surprisingly easy to drink. Great work Mike!
