Spontanale by Mikkeller
Gueuze
5.00 % ABV

English approximation: The beer produced in Belgium, it is fermented with airborne yeast, it has been in casks for years, are blended and is in every way made by the book. Spontanale that this spontaneous fermentation hottie from Mikkeller called, is a Gueuze type is soft and mild in taste. A Geubic brewed with: water, malt, oats, old hops and spontangær. Aged in oak casks

Mikkeller Spontanale, a Gueuze-like beer produced in Belgium by this Danish brewer. The nose on this beer is slightly grassy with a pungent sourness that dissipates quickly followed by some under ripened fruits. The taste is fairly tart with a lot of raw green grape skin notes as well as some peach, green apple, and a bit of lemon/citrus zest. There is an oak note that is slightly reminiscent of the Drie Fonteinen gueuze. This beer isn't as nicely attenuated as the big produces and the body is slightly thin, but the taste and easy drinkability more than make up for it. 5% ABV
