Thanks to Jon (weeheavysd) for sharing this rarity at the SeaofFloydster Tasting on March 28th. I had the opportunity to try the non-oak aged version from Dr.Bill at an AleSmith release and thought the regular version was really tasty so I was looking forward to this one.

Poured a dark cola color with a thin ring.

The aroma started with some sweet cherry, brown sugar, and tangy maple syrup. Later on the beer opened up some toasted malts, brown sugar, and somewhat of a brandy aroma.

Very tasty and malty. Toasted malts upfront with some caramel candy. A mixture of sweet dark fruits like raisins and dates. More caramel candy in the finish. Low carbonation but very smooth and easy to drink. I hope I get to drink this one again.
