22 oz bomber was sent to me by the great AKBelgianBeast. For purely advocating the Midnight Sun Brewery, he sent me this bottle. This bottle is fresh as it can be having been bottled the last week of March. Being from Alaska, I'd say thats frickin fresh. Lets do this.

A: Pours a nice and clear orange/amber color. Held to the light, it comes through with a lighter orange or dark yellow in color. The pour yielded a little less than a finger of white head that diminishes to a really thick and foamy ring. The lace is pretty tight and sticking all over this glass. Lots of carbonation bubbling up to the surface. This is a good looking brew.

S: The smell really has a bit more balance than I was expecting. Lots of caramel and toffee malty goodness mixing in here with the massive hops profile. The hops are coming out with some piney, resiny, astringent aromas. Then there are some grapefruit aromas coming out here. There is also just a touch floral goodness coming out as well. Very nice and aromatic.

T: Well, this be very hop forward. Lots of pine friggin hops pimp slapping you in the face. Did I mention this is fresh? Behind that you get some really bitter and sour grapefruit coming out. Puckering even. Touch of floral coming out as well. A bit of carmael and toffee tries to balance this out, but it has not chance whatsoever. I can feel this destroying my teeth, awesome.

M: Medium bodied brew with a nice carbonation that keeps this baby a bit crisp. This beer is pretty sticky and really coats the mouth with those friggin hops. Finishes pretty dry, making you NEED more. ABV does not really play a factor here. After taste is all bitter and astringent hops. Nice.

D: This a pretty damned good DIPA. DIPA's are bringing the hops and this one provides. Yeah, its hoppy bitter but its still drinkable and doesn't make it a friggin chore to finish the bottle. The aromas and flavor are damned good and really make this brew work.

I am much indebted to Frank for this brew. It was a hell of an experience to finally get some MS brew, and to get it this fresh is friggin ridiculous. What a beer. Awesome.
