A: Attractive dark hammered copper with some amber highlights. Head is a sturdy inch of creamy, bone white bubbles.

S: Stunning. Best smelling DIPA in a while. I could smell it when the cap came off and it really bloomed when pouring into the glass. But now that its in the glass and I’m smelling it, I couldn’t be happier. A nice aroma of green strawberries, watermelon juice, healthy undercurrent of caramel, honey in the highs and a variety of citrus splashed through it.

T: First sip gives a soapy hop flavor at the tip of the tongue with some shades of iced tea. Pungent citrus of the likes of lemon and grapefruit peel move in next with a powerful alcohol wake across the center of the tongue then moving to the sinuses. This is a very bitter beer…almost dirty around the back and sides of the mouth. Finishes with even more alcohol flavors, red apple and profound bitterness

M: Medium body, a bit hard.

D: The alcohol in the flavor is killing the high rating for this beer. Appearance and smell were off the chart but the complexity and depth of flavor is lacking. Decent beer but I’m not sure it is living up to the reputation.

A - Pours a slightly hazed golden apricot colored body. Light tan head is about a half inch thick and very fluffy looking. Very good retention and sticky lacing.

S - Holy hops batman. Citrus represented by grapefruit and tangerine and big time piney hops. Pale and caramel malt backdrop. Hops are huge and seem sticky sweet. Obvious alcohol.

T - Hops hit right away, giving a big pucker to my cheeks. I wasn't sure that there was a beer left that could do that to me. Bittering hops hit up front right away in full force. Followed by syrupy pine notes, then some citrus with tangerine and orange playing along. Stays bitter all the way until the end, where it has a big bitter hop wash.

M - Full bodied and very sticky/syrupy. Just a bit too thick for my liking.

D - This thing is a full on, uber-hopbomb. Good thing I am a hophead, or this wouldn't have any appeal to me at all. Even being one, it's a bit one sided.
