Out of a 12 ounce bottle and into my standard shaker glass. The stout appears a very dark brown color with some light showing around the edges of the glass. The head stands about a finger tall and is ecru in color. Nose and flavor consist of dark chocolate, cocoa, deep roasted grains, still a decent amount of fusel alcohol, milk chocolate and light mocha notes as it warms, sweet crackers/biscuits, even a bit of sweet and sour dark fruits. Medium in both body and carbonation with a clean, roasty, slightly bitter finish.

Got this one recently through a trade with drseamus, thanks!

Black with a few specks of garnet. Minimal head.

Big chocolate aroma. Smells like a chocolate milkshake. There are also some hints of vanilla, cocoa, roasted malts, wet grains, dark fruits, and some vinous notes. As you let the beer rest for a while the roasted profile begins to take center stage as well as some graham crackers and granola. I do get a few hints of coffee but it’s mostly big and bold roasted malts. Some molasses and maple syrup.

Also big roasted malt flavor upfront in the taste as well as some smoke and chocolate malts. Some dark fruits and some bitter chocolate or cocoa in the background.
I’m not a big fan of heavily roasted imperial stouts, I like them more with coffee and/or chocolate, but this is a tasty one which reminds me of Ten Fidy. After it gets to room temp or so it has a taste of a chocolate milkshake, yum.

Mouthfeel is creamy and well carbonated.

A very good impy but nothing over the top.

A - Nice looking brew here. Pours black and opaque, with no light getting through. A one and a half inch head sits on top, made up of all sized bubbles. Good retention.

S - Big time roastiness going on in here. Expresso bean and some chalky cocoa or baker's chocolate. Anise. Wow, the roastiness in intense.

T - Roastiness continues into the taste here, along with an unexpected smokiness. Smoked fish. Light expresso bean. Bitterness that is similar to that you get in a cup of coffee. Light licorice.

M - Full bodied, sort of dry. Carbonation is ok.

Overall - I guess this one just isn't my cup of tea. Decent enough flavor, but it just lacks the complexity that I like in a good imperial stout.
