Served chilled and poured into a pint glass.
Appearance is good. Dark brown colored brew with murkiness and some floaties. Barely any head forms but there's a thin film that stays for the entire drinking experience.
Smell is good. Big wave of dark and milk chocolate jumps out initially. Coffee, sweet caramel, toffee, wood and lactic/dairy. Hint of smokiness from the peat malt.
Taste is above-average. Peaty malt and chocolate again. Hints of roasted malt and smokiness but overall not as complex as the nose suggested. Finishes clean with a nice not-overly-sweet maltiness.
Mouthfeel is above-average. Mild carbonation, smooth texture and a little thin for the style.
Overall:
A good porter with an interesting twist of being brewed with peat malt (like a Scotch Ale.) Nothing earth shattering here, just an easy drinking/solid brew that would be easy to session with.
