A - Pours a very dark brown that shows a bit of burgundy highlights when brought up to the light. Starts with a fizzy, toffee colored head. That is gone within 30 seconds leaving a ring around the glass.

S - Huge, deep dark chocolate. Some baker's chocolate, cocoa and milk chocolate. Slight lactic notes. What smells like what once was a strong bourbon bite has mellowed to a smooth toffee, strong vanilla and light oak presence.

T - Starts sweet with vanilla and some toffee. Moves into layers of chocolate flavors, with dark chocolate, cocoa, baker's chocolate, and fudge. Moves to more vanilla, this time with some ever so slight bourbon and some bitterness. Slight alcohol burn towards the end, but nothing big that takes away from the beer. Some expresso with a bit of a bitter bite hits at the end. Bitterness stays in the aftertaste.

M - Medium full bodied. Carbonation, even after this long, is a touch grating.

D - Good BA stout where the aging provides a highlight and not the center of the beer. Very nice.
