Gonzie by Lawson's Finest Liquids
American IPA
4.00 % ABV

American Bitter Ale or IPA Light? You decide. Gonzie is a deceptively flavorful brew with a bounty of "C" hops, a stellar batting average, and an easy-drinking session style, 4.0% alc./vol. We hope it hits a homerun with you!

BeerTruth has once again graced me with some delicious f’n beer! Loves me some Lawson’s and a ‘Session IPA’ sounds awesome! Drank from my Surlyfest Stein.

Rare Batch #230
Bottle #31

Appearance- Pours a nice golden yellow with a decent half finger bright white foamy head. A terrific cap and collar is maintained the entire brew but oddly enough, no lacing.
Smell- Honestly it smells exactly how I’d expect it to smell. It’s fairly light in the nose but hoppy none-the-less. Very grassy and earthy with an almost herbal tone. A teeny tiny bit of malt creeps in but it’s pretty much the hops. Almost has an Imperial Pilsner smell.
Taste- Slightly more intense than I was expecting and pretty damned tasty. It’s very grassy and bitter but not as earthy as I was expecting. There is a fair amount of orange peel and floral-ness to the flavor that is nice. There is a touch of oxidation creeping in but all in all, it’s solid. A touch of citrus in the finish with a light pleasant bitterness.
Mouthfeel- Nice light body with a sharp bite of carbonation.
Drinkability- Nice beer. I wouldn’t call it a Session IPA or anything crazy like that. It’s just a nice easy drinking Pale Ale, pretty much like any other. Maybe a touch more bitter but not bad. Thanks Adam, delicious!
