22oz Bomber
Received this in a recent trade with Brentk56, thanks a lot Brent! Black Mocha Stout pours, well, black. There is a dark cherry highlights when directly backlit. The pour brought forth a one finger tan head that quickly receded to a thin cap. The head leaves some respectable lacing as I drink.
The aroma is unique and draws me right in. Solid roasty malt presence mingles effortlessly with a dash of cream and what reminds me of chocolate covered blueberries. All the aromas seem to play well together.
The flavor follows exactly what the aroma suggested. A soft roasted maltiness lasts throughout and combines with the creaminess and chocolate covered blueberries to make all the flavors balance each other nicely.
Medium bodied with a creaminess that creates the feel of something slightly thicker. There seems to be a slight chalkiness that I actually enjoy.
This is a highly drinkable stout. Big flavor and weighing in at 5.6% keeps this going down without a problem.
Another good brew from Highland. I wish their beers were available in my area because the few I've tried have been good at the worst and great at the best.

Thanks to ncvbc for the trade.
Pours a nice dark color with an inch of mocha colored foam.
Aromas of nuts, chocolate, caramel, cocoa, and some earthy hops. There's also a good presence of chocolate and roasted malts. I'm also picking up hints of vanilla wafers, brown sugar, and hints of roasted barley and some kahlua. Indeed it smells like a starbucks mocha frappuccino. Great chocolate profile in this stout.
The taste has more roasted barley and roasted malt flavor with a dry, semi-bitter, chocolate aftertaste. There is more roasted barley in the initial taste as well as the finish than the aroma leads to believe. Good but a bit disappointing considering how good it smells.
Feels just a tad over carbonated and finishes a little thin.
Pretty solid stout, I just thought that it would have more chocolate in the taste.

A - Pour produces a quarter inch of toasted marshmellow colored foam. It's a bit fizzy and doesn't sticka round for long, leaving a clump in the middle and a ring around the glass. Body is pitch black (not sure what beer Gator was drinking) and completely opaque.
S - Deep coffee and mocha chocolate all combined into one. Nice roasty dark malts. Touch of lactose.
T - Taste is much the same. Starts off with some rugged roastiness. Sort of a woody flavor with a touch of leather. Coffee comes in, but is light enough as to not dominate the flavor. Light bittersweet baker's chocolate. This is a bit of coffee bitterness that finishes this off and lasts through to the aftertaste.
M - Medium bodied with a smooth feel. Carbonation is a touch fizzy, but doesn't get in the way of enjoyment.
Overall - Pretty good stout here. Don't expect a big java stout coffee flavor here, as this is more towards the stout part than the coffee.

Pours a dark amber with little to no head. No lacing. nice clear brew. Smell is light, some chocolate, and malts. Taste is good up front, sweet chocolate, malts and a hint of hops. Very dry finish, unsure about that.
