Opaque black fudge. Darkest of chocolate brown foam crowns and crops the top with immense density and height. Which keeps an insane amount of foam the whole way thru, never skimping on lots of foam. Lacing is drippy and oily based with some glare based swiss cheese holed patterns. Dark Norse ale indeed!

Deep dark chocolate meets espresso with a waft of warmth for a boost of what comes across as a rum laced chocolate truffle. A bit much on the alcohol, which, thankfully dims as it sits. Notes to some smokeyness and tobacco. Damn nice on the chocolate!

Taste is more chocolate, twangy tangy, yet less intense then the aroma, but steady, firm, and smooth with a solid creamy sense of dark chocolate. Subtle nuances to dark cherry, molasses, a bit of plum and a warming espresso finish without a whole lot of bitterness. Which is quite nice. The dryness is dusted with chocolate and coffee, no bitter burntness, just a tug to some nutmeg and vanilla spice reaches from the depths of its chocolatey core.

Smooth creamy full body with the just the right amount of alcoholic warmth sifting thru each sip. Great chocolatey tang and malty dark fruit hinted too twang underneath and a delicately fluffy textured dry finish.

One solid treat of a RIS. Perhaps the warmth gets in the way at certain times, but for the most part this stuff is down right super solid. Norse represents amoung the beer kingdom after all!!?!!
