I love the story line /idea behind this beer. The pour is a darker golden color with good clarity. A nice pour with good tight foam and good lacing throughout the whole tasting.

The nose is on the hoppy side for pales. A mostly citrus appeal but more of a grapefruit appeal then lemony. Some piney finish as well. The malt is also noticed in the background with some lighter caramel notes.

The flavor has a more balanced hop to malt ratio then the nose would indicate but still the hops are more ubiquitous overall. The hops have a nice balance with a good piney bitterness and a more floral finish that slaps of Cascade. The malt is rather limited in overall flavor with limited caramel, but supports the hops just fine.

The body is good with a good a sweeter finish and a nice hidden ABV. Although 6 isn't exactly big, it has a nice flavor overall and a crisp and light wispy finish that helps accentuate the bitterness. I would never pollute a river with this gem.

Nice clean and clear soft copper color with a gargantuan soft yet crusty whitish top that sits a good while before fading down to a haze and coated the glass decorously with thin whispy curtains.

Aroma is soft as well, everything is soft in this beer, but in a good way, a very good way! Pleasant toasty malts that are breadish in tone and the hops are slightly floral and dry with some favorable dulled citrus and wood. Very nice nose...I believe this has some Hood hops abounding.

Taste is soft and well rounded, yet solid in body and feel to keep that charge of character going strong. And this is characterized in a gratifying presence of both a super nice toasty warm malt profile and pleasantly soft and milding hop balance that brings in refined and subtle layers of wood and dulled floral citrus; quite yummy...scratch that, very yummy! Feel is dead on for a pale, clean, soft, full, well rounded, yielding toasty malt warmth, smooth bite of bitterness and quaffable to the fullest. One hell of a pale!

12 oz brown bottle, best by 10-30-08

poured into a tulip an orange, amber with a small white head that quickly turned into a very slight film, no lacing to speak of

cascade hops - citrus-y, sweet

malty sweetness abounds. this is nicely complimented by a mouthful of cascade hoppy citrus finishing slightly, pleasantly bitter. full flavor and well balanced APA

mouthfeel is good, well carbonated, creamy, full, thick apa.

this ranks right up there for me as one of the most drinkable APAs out there. easily sessionable. If i could get this all the time it would be a stable in my fridge in the summer.

Poured from bottle into standard pint glass.

A - bright golden and transparent. Tiny bubbles racing to the surface. About a half finger head that is slightly off white.

S - Earthy hops with subdued malts.

T - Malts much more present in the taste than smell. Grassy hops, slightly spicy hops.

M - Medium bodied with hop feel that is a little oily.

D - Very easy to drink. Decent session brew. Little better than your average pale ale, but still just a pale ale.

Pours a damn near perfectly clear amber with a nice sized head that faded a little quick. Smell is a little lighter than expected. Taste is very solid and smooth. Drinkability? Would I buy more, yes. Can I drink a ton in a row #### yes.
