$9.99 at Poplar Wine & Spirits, bottled Oct 19,2010.

Not much of a pop when I removed the cap but it has plenty of carbonation judging from the huge head of off white foam I got when pouring.

It has a gorgeous reddish brown colour and the foam is very stubborn. It's shrinking really slowly leaving behind some excellent lacing.

The smell is dominated, for me, by a yeasty nose with some caramel malt sweetness and a peculiar...ummm...adjunct lager smell. Weird.

Candi sugar, yeast, cloves, bananas, a bit of dark fruit(wish there was more of this) and quite assertive with the alcohol, there's quite a bit going on but the overall taste doesn't seem to mesh all that well. It's a tough style to do well and I think this one missed the mark. At least, fresh it does.

Medium bodied with the carbonation on the heavy side of medium, I think it could use a tad more body.

Drinkability is okay. The alcohol is wearing on me but I reckon over time(read with some time in the cellar) that should calm down some, hopefully.

I was pleased to find this in Casper but I guess I expected too much given GT's track record with me.
