Review as promised to Dave. Drank one last summer but it seemed unfinished so I figured I’d give it some more time. Better, but not extremely so. Impressive looking but taste is a bit thin. Slightly acidic at first but gets better as it warms. A little sweeter as it warms with some caramel/toffee, maybe even some banana.

The beer pours a deep brown with touch of ruby at the edges. Small cap of head sticking around.

The smell sweet roasted malt up front, maybe a little booze later on.

Chocolate, bitter roasted malt make up most of the flavor.

Smooth mouthfeel, with a little bit of prickly carbonation.

Great porter, wish I had more than a single bottle. Thanks Dave!

This beer has broke my reviewing lull. Handed to me in my way out of an outstanding tour of the Goose Island production facility, Dave asked that I review this beer, so here goes. Big props to Dave for this one!

Beer pours a deep brown, almost black color with a nice half inch head. Letting this beer sit as I type this, the head dissipates pretty quickly, leaving a tiny rim of bubbles.

There is a nice dark malt and chocolate smell to this one, not overpowering, just enough to let you know whats coming.

First sip is exactly that, roasted malts, some coca and something sweet, maybe a caramel taste. This beer has a nice mouth feel to it, perfect for a porter I think, while it looks like it could pass for a stout, it's a bit lighter on the tongue and the carbonation is nice.

Overall, a nice beer by Goose Island, I will bye this if it makes its way to West MI.

Pours into the glass a deep dark brown with some garnet highlight and a couple fingers of tan foam. Aroma starts off with a nice healthy mix of roast and chocolate. Smooth malts with a hint of creaminess. Seems well balanced.

First sip brings a good mix of dark malts, roast and caramel tones along with a roll of chocolatey goodness. Smooth with some mild burnt undertones. Touch of bitterness on the way down with a hint of hops. Tasty brew.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with well placed carbonation. It's not as dense as some porters but it is extremely drinkable! Overall, a tasty porter that I'm glad to have been able to sample for sure...thanks ender. Here's to many more Goose batches!
