Old Review
Had this initially on tap while I was hanging out with the guys from Good People at the Magic City Brewfest and I have also had a few pints at the J. Clyde.

A: Poured a nice, clear, medium brown. Had a touch of head but I was drinking out of a sampling glass. Edit: having had more of this at the J. Clyde, I have to say that this shows up far better in a pint (of course). Has a good amount of thick and long lasting head, lightly brown in color and this beer throws up some nice lace for a Brown Ale. Pretty damn good looking if you ask me.

S: Smells of nice, varying malts and has some floral and spicy hop notes in the nose. Just a lingering scent of caramel in there. Edit: further inspection over time has left me with notes of nuts and very light but present cocoa aroma. Just enough to add a touch of sweetness to a good Brown Ale.

T: Tastes a lot like the nose. There is some heavy malt presence but it is easily balance with the hop notes. Caramel comes in on the back end and it also has some nutty undertones to it as well. Edit: Glad I picked up on the nutty flavor in the first review because it was absolutely there. Maybe a touch of pecan. Little bit of milk chocolate presence but nothing too sweet or over the top.

M: A good, crisp brew that is not to heavy and not too light. Finishes pretty clean and can still be used as a nice thirst quenching brew. Edit: Carbonation falls into a light side of medium. Not too much carbonation to take over the feel of the beer, still allowing it to be a little heavier and creamier. Aftertaste is mostly the caramel and chocolate malts.

D: Very much so. This is a fine representation of the style and a great first brew to come out of a new brewery. Very happy with it and can't wait to try some of their newer offerings. Edit: Now I know I should not have based a review off a sample in the past. Bit of ashamed of myself and my noob presence at that time. Still this beer proves to be better than I remembered from that day. Just a very nice and hefty Brown Ale that really shows some dynamics and wieght in the flavor department. A very good brew.
