Freigeist Abraxxxas by Gasthaus-Brauerei Braustelle
Lichtenhainer
6.00 % ABV

Inspired by the east German tart wheat style once know as "Lichtenhainer". Abraxxxas is sour and complex, with a balancing smoky maltiness.

(Served in a teku)
A- This beer pours a slightly hazy deep apricot body with a thick snow white head that boils down a bit. It sticks in thick rings to the glass with each sip. There is a strong carbonation of tiny bubbles that trail up the glass.

S- The mellow alder wood aroma with some gentle smoke qualities has a nice tart hint with a faint hop note and some nice yeasty qualities in the finish. There is a nice bread crust malt note that comes through as it opens.

T- Nice bread dough note leads to an alder smoke hint that is mellow but lingers nicely through the flavor with a crisp green hint in the finish. There is a soft funky tartness that comes through in the finish as it warms a bit.

M- The medium mouthfeel has a tight little fizz on the tongue.

O- The nice wheat flavor with good smoke flavor is complimented by some funk tart hints. Every thing is balanced and mellow making this interesting and very tasty and sessionable.
