Ebon brown color with a medium dark tan capping of fluffy foam that resides for a bit before fading to a broken skim and a collar ring. Small patches of lacing stick fairly well.
Aroma is fairly smokey of some bacon and char and some notes to blackened, tarry malt, chocolate, and dark grains.
Taste is more of the same, quite blackened and hovered in a smokey charred sense with a tender sweet malt backing and semi sweet chocolate base underneath. Tenderly charred and cocoa drying in the finish, smidgeons of bitterings in there with lots of black tanged malts creating a nice melding balance.
Body grows nicely into a smooth rendering mediumness. Semi tangy and creamy with a tint to some smoke that adds a nice tone, flavor, and balance within the char and chocolate that seems to take up everything else.
Solid stout! I'll pick up more as its fairly cheap and well worth it.
