blimey, this is not what i had hoped for. Full Sail has been solid across the board in other instances but this one falls flat.
nothing stands out about it. very blah. not thick, not sweet, not hoppy, not creamy. just.... there.

Pours a deep black with a small deep brown head that quickly settles. A small ring of foam sticks around the edge of the glass.
Lots of roasted malts with a nice light sweetness and a bit of dry chocolate aroma. Cocoa and a bit of burnt malt bitterness. Slight hint of light toffee. Touch of coffee and no sign of alcohol.
Smooth and slightly thick malt body. Medium to light carbonation level. Lots of milk chocolate and roasted malt. Just a bit of burnt malt bitterness in the aftertaste. Some light coffee and a good bit of caramel. As in the aroma, there is no sign of alcohol presence. Just a light hop note in the aftertaste along with plenty of smooth milk chocolate and a touch of roast.
For $3.99, this is a very nice imperial stout. Full Sail needs more credit for their nice line of Brewermaster Reserve beers with their high availability and nice pricing.
