A: Jet black with some caramel head that quickly disappears leaving some nice lacing.
S: Coffee, dark chocolate, tons of roasted goodness.
T: Amazing
M: Nice mouthfeel, maybe a tad thin but I'm picking at this point.
Great frickin beer.

Thick and oily black, waffer thin cocoa brown foam that sits thickly but quite thin even after a strong pour. Lacing sticks in strings.
Aroma is nice and darkly roasted with black malts, coffeeish notes, tangy molasses, dark caramel, and bittersweet chocolate.
Great taster, rich, dark, deep, and inviting flavors of heavily roasted barley and malts, nice chocolate tones meld within keeping an ever present bitterness of roasty/burnt qualities. Touches of coffee/espresso roast intermingle with all the other roasty things in the finish where the bittering ensues and drys out with a nice play of everything chocolate and roasty. Some burnt tinges and charred wood notes make their way in as well. Wow! Fantastic porter character in its flavors. Oh my is it yummy!
Feel is well rounded and creamy full with a fantastic finish of drying roasty/burntish chocolate bittering. I'm reminded of burnt chocolate cake or cookies at every sip. Fantastically good stuff.
This could be one to top Descutes Black Butte and Summit Great Northern in my book, something I never thought could be possible, but this stuff is wonderful! Yum times two.

Have never seen this one bottles before. I think they just started bottling it again after a long time since they last bottled it. I had heard that on draft this one was very very good. And the bottle did not disappoint at all.
Color was almost black. Smell was great, with roasted grains, dark chocolate and maybe even some coffee notes. Taste was about the same. Just great, with an even stronger roasted grains taste. Feel was very good. Thick, with all the great flavors sticking around for a little while.
Overall, this one was up to the billing for me. Pretty much one of the best porters I've had in a long while.
